Orange White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Blondies

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter 1 cube
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon orange extract 3-4 drops, optional
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup macadamia nuts chopped
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup milk or dark chocolate chips


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
  4. After melted, transfer butter to a medium bowl.
  5. Add sugar and beat until very smooth (either with an electric mixer or by hand with a whisk).
  6. Add egg, vanilla, orange extract, and salt and beat until combined, scraping down sides as necessary until you have a uniform mix.
  7. Gently stir in the flour until just combined.
  8. Pour mixture into prepared pan and bake 25-28 minutes, or until just set in the middle.
  9. Cool on a rack before cutting.

Recipe Notes

Quick Tip:
I'm learning that I like to line most of my pans with foil or parchment paper. You'll still want to grease it. Makes for easy removal!
Dress it Up:
Brown the butter for a rich nutty flavor.
