Important note: If using a food processor, making this peanut butter (or other nut butters) usually takes about 5-7 minutes if you want a smooth butter where the nuts have released all of their oils (and certain nuts like almonds, might take longer. If you don't go the full time, the butters will tend to be dry and a little chunky in texture. Some people like it this way, some don't. Don't cheat the time. You should not usually need to add oil if you do.
On another note, I kid you not, in the Blendtec Twister Jar, peanut butter takes about 30 seconds to make. We usually just run it on the "soup" preset, twist the top to scrape the sides down as it goes, and then hit any button to stop the machine when it looks done. For other nut butters, like almond that tends to be a little drier, you may need to run the cycle 2-3 times. Still much faster than a food processor and better texture results! We highly recommend the Twister Jar for making any nut butters.
