Easy Horchata Recipe

By Christina | Food Apparel 5 Comments

A simple no-fail horchata in the blender that is just fantastic!

Classic Horchata - easy no-fail blender eversion! If you are thinking of that syrupy overly sugared stuff at a Mexican fast food restaurant, please don’t cringe.  I would never instruct you to make that.  I fell in love with horchata when I was younger and my older sister, who had lived in Guatemala, would take me through Beto’s drive through so she could spend her afternoon sipping on this fragrant white drink.

Over time, I found that this was actually quite the novelty and it is harder to find delicious horchata when you’re out and about unless you know what you are looking for. However, lucky for me, horchata is cheap, easy, and so delicious when made at home. Give it a try!Horchata: Classic Style

  1. In a blender add cinnamon stick, rice and water. Pulse a few times until rice is slightly broken up.
