It’s crazy to look back and think that Tammy and I have been blogging at FoodApparel.com for one year now (here’s our first post – the Gigantic Molten Lava Chocolate Cake).
We had talked about starting a blog together long before that. And we just never seemed to have the time. And finally, despite still not having the time, we took the plunge anyway.
You know what? The time thing hasn’t changed at all. This last year has been a roller coaster for both of us. Between our families, there has been moving, huge career changes, juggling toddlers (literally, juggling them), hospitals, surgeries, highs, lows, fasts….but definitely not slows! I’m sure most of you can equally relate with your individual circumstances.
But despite the craziness of it all, we love it. We love making food and eating it. It brings our families closer together, both immediate and extended. And it gives us memories to enjoy. We love sharing these tasty memories with you.
You know, for some people, therapy comes in the form of a good read, or a fresh coat of paint on a wall. For me, it’s being in the kitchen baking a good treat that seems well-deserved after a long, hard day. Now if I could just get someone to clean up those dishes afterwards….. 😉
So how do we celebrate one year? We want to remind you (as well as us) to “Keep Calm and Bake On.” All the way from quick treats to extravagant eats: Enjoy Each Moment. Step away from the chaos for a quick pause to savor the complex taste of a chocolate bar. Cozy up next to your loved one for a few minutes despite your backlog of work, and enjoy a good slice of smoked Gouda cheese on stone ground crackers. Take that needed day off (holiday or not) to relax in the midst of good company and a beautifully orchestrated feast.
We’ve made these ‘Keep Calm’ posters to help you remember. And we want to give some away. We’re giving away two posters in honor of our current 200 Facebook likes (along with a little tasty treat, of course).
