So, while I seriously love this Honey Granola recipe that I previously posted, this version here that I got from my friend Jeannette is great when you just need to quickly whip some up from a few simple ingredients.
Five ingredients: oats, brown sugar, water, salt, vanilla. That’s it. And the cool thing is, there are still a ton of ways you can modify it to give it a little flair.
Simply Granola
Ingredients
- 8 cups oatmeal
- 1 ½ cups brown sugar
- ½ cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 teaspoons vanilla
Instructions

Measure oatmeal into large bowl.

Mix water and brown sugar in smaller microwaveable bowl.

Microwave brown sugar mixture 3 minutes on high.

Add salt; stir until dissolved.

Stir in vanilla.

Pour liquid mixture over oatmeal and stir until well coated.

Divide in half and spread out on two 11x15 inch lightly greased cookie sheets (cooking spray or butter).

Bake at 275 degrees for 30 minutes.

Let cool before storing.
Recipe Notes
Dress it Up:
Before baking, toss in 1/2 to 1 cup of any of the following: Coconut, Sunflower Seeds, Slivered Almonds, Other Seeds/Nuts
After baking, toss in any of the following: Raisins, Dried Cranberries, Dried Blueberries, Other Dried Fruit, White Chocolate Chips
