Start out the day with this Heart Healthy Fruit Smoothie – good for the body and for the taste buds!
A few months back, my husband had a physical exam to determine his insurance premium. Not having coordinated the dates so well, I planned to feed some missionaries from our church. Vegetable Lasagna with creamy white sauce and Alton Brown’s homemade ice cream that contains 8 egg yolks……. Oops.
After all the prep work for Friday night dinner was done, I realize my husband’s exam is the next day. So he says he will skip the ice cream and eat it the next day. Well, the ice cream came out with some homemade chocolate sauce after dinner and the temptation was too much to resist. So the blood work came back with a cholesterol one point above the healthy range. Again, oops.
So here I am reconciling for feeding my husband so terribly, making him a heart healthy fruit smoothie a few times a week and throwing it in mason jars for a healthy breakfast as he runs out the door.

The Antioxidants in honey are Linked to Other Beneficial Effects on Heart Health. Honey is a rich source of phenols and other antioxidant. Many of these have been linked to a reduced risk of heart disease and may lower bad Cholesterol. They may help the arteries in your heart dilate, increasing blood flow to your heart. I had to do a lot of research for heart healthy foods for my husband and this is what I came across regarding honey. Hope it helps!
